Terms of Use
Last updated: 5 November 2026
1. Agreement and acceptance
These terms are an agreement between you and Seyfi Can Zeyrek ("we", "us"), an individual developer in Türkiye trading under the brand Morrowline Apps. They cover the Homebird app for iPhone and Android, its home-screen widgets, its notifications, the Live Activity on iPhone and the Homebird Plus purchase. By continuing from the welcome screen, which links to these terms and to the privacy policy, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The privacy policy explains how data is handled and also applies to your use of the app.
2. Definitions
- App means Homebird, including its widgets, notifications and Live Activity.
- Service means what the App does for you, as described in section 8.
- Plus means Homebird Plus, the optional one-time purchase that unlocks more of the App.
- Store means the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on where you got the App.
3. Eligibility and age
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need the permission of a parent or guardian, in particular to buy Plus. Local minimum ages for online services still apply. The App is not directed to children.
4. Your account
The app creates an anonymous account identifier when you first open it; it is not tied to your name. You do not register, choose a password or log in. The identifier is used for the startup checks, crash reports and your Plus purchase record. If you remove the App or change phones you may get a new identifier; use Restore purchases to get Plus back (section 10). Delete my data in Settings deletes your anonymous identifier and erases what the app stores on your phone. The privacy policy lists what it does not delete and how to ask us for that through https://homebird.morrowline.app/en/support/.
5. License to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for private, non-commercial use, under these terms and the rules of your Store. You must not copy, modify, rent, sell or distribute the App, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or get around its technical limits or the Plus purchase. All rights not granted here are reserved. If you downloaded the App from Google Play, Google is not a party to these terms. Purchases are processed under Google Play's terms of service. These terms do not give you rights against Google.
6. Apple App Store terms
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:
- Acknowledgement. These terms are between you and Seyfi Can Zeyrek only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We, and not Apple, are solely responsible for Homebird (the "Licensed Application") and its content. These terms do not override Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Scope of licence. The licence we grant you is non-transferable and limited to Apple-branded products that you own or control, and as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions (including use through Family Sharing or volume purchasing where Apple allows it).
- Maintenance and support. We, and not Apple, are solely responsible for maintenance and support of the Licensed Application, as set out in these terms or as required by law. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support.
- Warranty. If the Licensed Application fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the Licensed Application to you (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the Licensed Application. Other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses caused by a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.
- Product claims. We, and not Apple, are responsible for addressing claims by you or a third party relating to the Licensed Application or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws. Nothing in these terms limits our liability beyond what the law allows.
- Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the Licensed Application or your possession and use of it infringes that party's intellectual property rights, we, and not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of the claim.
- Legal compliance. You confirm that you are not located in a country that is subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Developer contact. Questions, complaints or claims about the Licensed Application can be sent to Seyfi Can Zeyrek, Esenyali Mahallesi 52/75 Sk. Izmir/Türkiye, support page https://homebird.morrowline.app/en/support/, email zeyrekseyfican@gmail.com.
- Third-party terms. You must comply with the third-party terms that apply when you use the Licensed Application (for example, the terms of your mobile data provider).
- Third-party beneficiaries. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right (and is considered to have accepted the right) to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
7. Device permissions
The App asks for permissions only for the features described here: location (while the app is open and, if you choose, all the time) to measure the distance from home, notifications for the arrival note, the trip-day card on Android and the reminders you turn on, and, on iPhone, access to the photo you pick for a person, a pet or a share card and, if you choose Save Image in the share sheet, adding that card to your photos. You can refuse or revoke any permission in your system settings at any time. Some features, such as the distance on the widget and the arrival note, stop working without location access; the rest of the App keeps working. Nothing in the App is made to depend on notifications. The privacy policy has the details.
8. The service and its limits
Homebird shows the time at home and, if you allow location, how far you are from home in home-screen widgets (Distance, Time & weather and Days left), with a Live Activity on iPhone on the day of a trip home, and shows your home with the pet and people who wait there. You can keep more than one home, each with its own name, city and household, and choose which home each widget shows. You choose your homes on a map and, if you allow it, the App tells you when you arrive at your main home. While Weather at home is on, the App also shows the real weather in the cities of your homes; you can turn this off in Settings.
Your position is read on your device to work out how far you are from home, and it is not sent to us. The home-screen widgets and the Live Activity can show the time and weather at home, the days until a trip, the distance from home, the name of the home and your house, pet and people as pictures to anyone who can see your screen. The App Store or Google Play handles the payment, RevenueCat keeps the purchase record, and the app asks RevenueCat whether you own Plus when it starts.
The limits of the Service:
- Distances are estimates. They depend on your phone's location services, GPS signal, Wi-Fi, mobile networks and settings such as Location Accuracy, and can be wrong or out of date.
- The arrival note, reminders and widget updates are best-effort. Your operating system, battery saver, phone maker settings or your own settings can delay or stop them. They are not a safety, tracking or security product and we do not promise they arrive. Do not rely on them in an emergency. Reminders to call, write or send a photo home only remind you; the App sends nothing for you.
- The Service depends on others. The map, address lookup, weather, startup checks, crash reports, purchase records and Store billing are run by third parties and may be unavailable or slow. The map and the weather need an internet connection.
- The weather is a forecast. It comes from MET Norway for the cities of your homes, not for where you are, and it can be wrong, late or missing. Do not rely on it for safety.
- The App checks itself when it starts. It runs a security check and a version check with Firebase. If they cannot finish, for example without an internet connection, or if your version is below the minimum, the App stays on a notice screen until they finish or you update.
- Features can change. What is free and what Plus unlocks can change as the App improves. We show what Plus unlocks before you buy it.
- No promise of outcome. We make no promise about any result from using the App.
9. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the App unlawfully or in a way that harms others;
- use it to track, watch or pressure another person who has not agreed, or to harass, threaten or impersonate anyone;
- get around the Plus purchase or the technical limits of the App;
- copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell the App, or access it by automated means;
- introduce malware or interfere with the App or the services it uses;
- use it in breach of export control or sanctions law.
If you seriously or repeatedly break these rules we may limit or end your use of the App.
10. Purchases and subscriptions
Homebird Plus is a one-time purchase and does not renew. It is a lifetime unlock sold through the App Store or Google Play (the "Store"); there is no subscription. It unlocks homes after the first (up to five in total), additional houses, pets, pet accessories, a second pet and widget looks; the free App remains usable. The price is shown in the Store before you buy. Taxes may apply.
Payment is made through your Store account. We do not receive or store your card details. The App Store or Google Play handles payment and refunds under its own rules. Ask Apple or Google for a refund; we cannot refund Store purchases ourselves. This does not affect rights you have by law.
The App Store or Google Play handles the payment, RevenueCat keeps the purchase record, and the app asks RevenueCat whether you own Plus when it starts. Use Restore purchases in the App with the same Store account to get Plus back on a new device or after reinstalling. The purchase applies to the Store account that bought it and to the App for as long as we offer it. There is no trial and no recurring charge, so there is nothing to cancel. If you stop using the App, removing it from your phone does not affect your purchase.
11. Third-party services
The Store, your phone's address lookup service (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android), OpenFreeMap (the map tiles), MET Norway (the weather, under the NLOD 2.0 and CC BY 4.0 data licences), Google (Firebase) (the anonymous identifier, startup checks and crash reports) and RevenueCat (the purchase record) are third-party services that we do not run. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use the features that depend on them, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or conduct. The App may contain open-source components that are licensed under their own terms.
12. Intellectual property
We and our licensors own the App, its design, text, artwork, characters and trademarks, and the rights in them. You get no right to use our name or marks. You keep ownership of what you add, such as names and photos, which stay on your device. If you send us feedback, you allow us to use it without payment or credit. Copyright or other rights complaints can be sent to the contact address in section 21.
13. Privacy
The privacy policy explains how personal data is handled and applies to your use of the App. It is available in the App and at https://homebird.morrowline.app/. Users in Türkiye can also read the information notice under Law no. 6698, which is included at the end of the Turkish version of the privacy policy in the App.
14. Your rights as a consumer
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live that cannot be waived by agreement.
If you buy Plus as a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital content supplied immediately, you lose this right if you expressly asked for immediate supply and acknowledged that you lose it. In the Store's purchase flow you can request a refund; the Store's withdrawal or refund function is available during the 14 days. Digital content and services must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose; if they are not, you may be entitled to repair, a price reduction or termination under EU Directives 2019/770 and 2011/83 or the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.
In Türkiye, your rights under Law no. 6502 on Consumer Protection and its regulations, including rights relating to distance contracts and unfair terms, remain in force.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
The app and the service are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that they will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose. Rights that the law gives you and that cannot be excluded remain. For iOS, Apple's refund route in clause 4 of section 6 applies.
16. Limitation of liability
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data or loss of goodwill, to the extent the law allows. Our total liability to you for all claims about the App is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the event, or 50 euros if you paid nothing, to the extent the law allows. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for intent or gross negligence, or for anything that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights. This section does not apply to the Apple refund route in section 6.
17. Termination
You can stop using the App at any time by removing it from your phone. Removing the App deletes the data it stores on your phone, but not the anonymous identifier or the records held by outside services; use Delete my data first (section 4). We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect others, and we tell you in advance where practical. When your access ends your licence ends; a Plus purchase is not refunded by us, see section 10. Sections about intellectual property, liability, disputes and anything meant to continue stay in force.
18. Governing law and disputes
Talk to us first. If you have a complaint, contact us through https://homebird.morrowline.app/en/support/. We will try to resolve it within 30 days before either of us starts formal proceedings. This does not affect your right to go to court or to a consumer authority at any time.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live continue to apply to you.
Courts. The courts of İzmir, Türkiye, have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may also bring a claim in the courts of the place where you live, and we can only bring a claim against you in the courts of that place, to the extent the law of your country says so. Small-claims procedures where you live remain available to you.
There is no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver in these terms.
19. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when the App changes or the law does. When we do, we update the date above; a changed date shows that this is the current version. Material changes take effect 30 days after that date where we can wait that long. If you keep using the App after they take effect you accept the changed terms, and you may stop using the App if you disagree. Where the law requires your consent to a change, we ask for it.
20. General
If a part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. These terms and the privacy policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the App. We may transfer our rights to a successor to the App. No one other than you, us and Apple (see section 6) has rights to enforce these terms.
